Co-CEO & Founder Clinical Lead
AHPRA accredited supervisor
Carly McKinnis
Carly has worked as a clinical psychologist for the last 25 years in a variety of different settings. After completing a Masters of Psychology in Child, Educational and Developmental Psychology she worked in the disability sector, Lifeline and then moved into the clinical mental health space. Carly spent a number of years working in remote indigenous communities and credits this time with influencing and developing her values, direction and a strong connection to the land and it's people. Carly then returned to her hometown of Ararat, completed her clinical psychology endorsement and spent 16 years working in child and adolescent mental health, adult mental health, education and private practice. On returning to her hometown, Carly was fortunate to cross paths with Tammie Meehan and they immediately struck up a friendship and a shared passion for early intervention in mental health and a love for their community. From this the seed for One Red Tree was planted. The impact of suicide on the community and the ongoing lack of mental health support fuelled the growth of this idea into the clinic we have today. Carly is excited about the future development of One Red Tree and breaking down barriers to work more collaboratively with other service providers to co-ordinated mental health services that responds to the individual needs of our community.

Co-CEO & Founder Education Lead
Tammie Meehan
With a career spanning 25 years as a primary school teacher and later in school leadership, as a principal and assistant principal, Tammie developed a passion for wellbeing and mental health. Over her career, she was fortunate to travel to Reggio Emilia in Italy to learn from world-renowned early childhood educational leaders and Santa Fe, New Mexico to learn from relational leaders who embraced community and family connections in holistic learning of children.

She co-founded ORTRC with Carly McKinnis, as they shared this passion for wellbeing and providing a service that was truly community-based. Together, they wanted to create a not-for-profit organisation that grew from the needs of our rural community and one that can provide holistic, professional psychological support in our schools and across all areas of our wider community.

Tammie is a Co-CEO of ORTRC and shares this role with Carly. They both strive to lead an organisation that is connected to our community, provides an outstanding mental health service, and encourages a rural career pathway for psychologists.
